Firstly what is Jute?

Jute is a natural baste, vegetable fibre composed of cellulose.

• A hectare of Jute plants consume over 15 tons of CO2, several times higher than that consumed by the same area of trees
• Fully biodegradable within 3 months, jute actually puts nutrients back into the soil upon decomposition
• Jute is a renewable and sustainable resource and can be grown within 4 to 6 months.
• Jute is non-pollutant producing no toxic or harmful gas byproducts.
• Jute is grown primarily in the West Bengal region in India and Bangladesh.
• The industry now supports over 5 million people in some of the poorest parts of India.

PLEASE NOTE: Please note due to the nature of the jute material, simple 2-3 colour designs tend to work better as the material is very coarse. It really depends on the artwork though and if we feel the design will print without any problems, it maybe possible to print several colours.
