Green polythene? Its says so on the bag!

As our 12 year anniversary approaches we can reflect on many changes within the carrier bag industry – none so popular as the introduction of a fully bio-degradable polythene bag.

Some styles of polythene can be extremely cost effective and with a quick turnaround a very tempting choice.

We recommend that all our customers print a strap-line on the bottom of the bag stating that the bag is 100% fully bio-degradable.  This is a great way of choosing a bag that not only fits a budget, but gives a clear green message to the customer.

So what goes into a bio-degradable polythene bag?

The cost of fully bio-degradable bag is exactly the same as a normal polythene one! That’s right! It will cost you no extra to choose these options…

Schulman DEG 68
Suitable for composting, once disposed of in such a way it quickly breaks down and will totally disappear within a matter of months. A great choice for the retail market or any company who needs to store the bags long term.

Symphony d2w
An additive put into the plastic at the extrusion stage making the finished product “oxo-biodegradable”. It will degrade and disappear in a short timescale, leaving no fragments, no methane and no harmful residues. Suitable for short term storage as it breaks down far too quickly to be stored long term, this is a perfect material for exhibitions and events and the environmentally conscious promotional company.
